The Smokin' Guns stand alone game is now released! Very Happy

It's a bit rougher around the edges than we had hoped and a few bugs couldn't be squished in time. And sadly, there is no Mac support at this time. However, making the game open source & releasing this version allows for new beginnings. If you happen to have Mac Crossover, I'm told that works fine.
You can find the files in our Downloads section.
We'll be posting mirrors HERE as they become available. I'll also be listing the known game servers in the Telegraph section of the forum.
For you coders out there, the source can be found HERE.
We're hoping to use the IoQ3 engine in the near future, so please keep that in mind before posting in the forum. Linux users should see this topic.
A lot of folks are chatting in our irc channel if you'd like to join us!

True! the file is
Code:
359156581  1. Jan 14:59 Smokin_Guns_1.0.zip

And I've made a short anouncement for me German Readers.
Nice work! I've tested only some of the singleplayer Maps. The Game is running under Debian Lenny really good.
I had an issue with the libopenal.so.0. But that is easy to fix

Very good news from my point of vue as I compiled the linux binaries. Can you shortly explain your issue and fix about openal ? I would appreciate to fix such things quickly now the code is opened Wink

different Distributions have different sound libs.
The only Thing you could do is putting the lib in the zip file and provide a start script which is setting the LD_LIBRARY_PATH correctly.
So in my case I have Debian Lenny which has a libopenal.so.1
The Game wants libopenal.so.0
For me I've searched at my system where I have it.
So for me the solution looks like:
Code:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/bed/zb_beta_v11/shared_libs/

Because there was the libopenal.so.0

No elegance, but works Smile

Makes me wish I was at home by my computer! Alas I shall have to try it out later today on one of Red's ancient rigs up here in the backwoods of Virginia.
Congratualtions to all the team members that worked so hard and long on this mod. Smile

I spread the news to two other forums. Not much but it's better than nothing.

Thanks, I though about such kind of problem. I still had that issue some time ago using the ioQ3 engine. I will try to patch that case anyway.

It's relatively easy. You will maybe have to figure out some development package dependency but it should be fine if you have still done such things. If you try and have questions, just make a post in the code section of this forum Wink
Btw I will update the compilation scripts in SVN to make compilation easier.
