you can take a screenshot be pressing F11. By default it takes the screenshot in .tga form and stores this in your "Smokin' Guns/smokinguns/" folder. _________________

If you're trying to take a picture of the menu and the screenshot command doesn't work, try using Printscreen command on your keyboard. That sometimes is what I have to do, or at least used to back in the older Q3 days. _________________

I don't know why, but sadly pressing f11 doesnt work on 1.1b2?
Or is it just a problem of mine? _________________ SG Name:-nox-Juaro |

you can rebind f11 to take a screenshot. I think it worked fine for me in 1.1b*
/bind F11 screenshotjpeg |

/screenshot (in format TGA) should always be able to do shots of the ingame menus. Just bind it to some key |

This may not be the situation here, but I punched F11 20 times thinking it didn't work, but it saved 20 pictures in the new user/appdata/etc. file location folder that 1.1x creates. You may want to check that. _________________ Well...Mr. Chain Blue Lightnin' hisself..heh, heh! |

This reminds me, I was thinking about having the installer create a link to the %appdata%\Smokin' Guns\smokinguns folder, so people will be able to find their screenshot, demos, etc. Maybe call it "Settings and Data" or something like that. I guess it would have to be prefixed with "Smokin' Guns" to play nice with the start menu search in Vista and 7. _________________ In game: =SG=monSter

Just to have it said once:
Dear Developers,
I really HATE when Software spreads itself all over my Harddisk.
Would be nice to have an option still, which tells SG to keep its files in SG-folder.

So you hate almost all apps in in existance? If they don't use %appdata%, they probably use the registry, which is worse.
On Vista and later, the Program Files dir is not normally writable except for installers, so files written there are automatically redirected to what M$ calls the 'virtual store' anyway.
Well, you can do what Pardner suggested, that'll give you a 'portable' SG. In SG 1.1 you can see which paths are used by typing 'fs' in the console and pressing Tab. _________________ In game: =SG=monSter

ah -- good input -- i totally forgot about that possibility - thanks

the excessive use of %appdata% started recently -- i see the philosophy of having user-profiles etc., but i still dislike when programs don't stay in the folder where i decided to install them once
that's one of the things i basically like about Quake3-engine-games .. you got one folder for the game.. in case you want to port your game to a different machine, copy/paste the folder and play it max. 10 seconds after
